The Liguria Study Center for the Arts and Humanities
Special Bogliasco Fellowships

Through the support of generous donors who share our commitment to the arts and humanities, we are pleased to be able to offer Special Fellowships from time to time. Some Special Fellowships are dedicated to specific disciplines; others are reserved for persons coming from certain countries or geographic areas. In some cases they may provide funds to assist Fellows who otherwise might not be able to afford the cost of travel to and from Genoa.

All persons who are awarded Bogliasco Fellowships are automatically eligible for Special Fellowship status. No additional application materials are required or accepted. Special Fellowships are awarded by the Foundation during the month of June. Recipients are notified on or around July 1.

The list below describes Special Fellowships that have been awarded in past years. Some of these may be available during the 2009-2010 academic year.

Choreographers should be aware that although the Foundation can offer the recipient a studio with computer access and playback equipment, it does not yet have the facilities to provide a dedicated dance rehearsal space.

Leo Biaggi de Blasys Bogliasco Fellowship
Named for the Swiss industrialist whose bequest enabled the establishment of the Bogliasco Foundation and Liguria Study Center for the Arts and Humanities, this Fellowship was created by members of the Biaggi family. It is awarded, without restriction of discipline, to persons living in those parts of the world where the cost of travel to Genoa may be prohibitive. The Leo Biaggi de Blasys Bogliasco Fellowship provides reimbursement of travel expenses and a modest cash stipend.
